Security & IP Policy

How we protect our content, what's permitted, what's prohibited, and how to request licensing or partnership. We want our work cited, taught, and built on. We don't want it scraped, harvested, or competitively audited.

What's allowed

Permitted

Read, learn, and apply

Read every article, use every calculator, take every training module. That's what this is for. Apply the concepts in your own business.

Permitted

Quote with attribution

Quote up to 200 words from any article with a clear citation back to the source URL on this site. For longer excerpts, reach out — we usually say yes.

Permitted

Search engine and AI crawler indexing

Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yandex, Baidu, OpenAI (GPTBot), Anthropic (ClaudeBot), Perplexity, Google-Extended, CCBot, and other major AI/search crawlers have full access. We want to be cited.

Permitted

Link to anything

Link to any page. Embed an excerpt with attribution. Reference a tool in a tweet, blog post, or LinkedIn article. We appreciate links.

What's prohibited

Prohibited

Bulk scraping or mass downloading

Automated harvesting of pages, content, datasets, or media — by any means, for any purpose other than search engine indexing — is prohibited. This includes Screaming Frog, AhrefsBot, SemrushBot, Diffbot in unauthorized modes, and any custom scraper.

Prohibited

Competitive auditing without authorization

Crawling this site to feed competitor analysis tools, audit our SEO patterns for replication, extract our schema/structured data for training, or build a derivative competing property is prohibited under our Terms of Use.

Prohibited

Republication without permission

Reposting articles in full, mirroring tools on another domain, repackaging content as your own — all prohibited. Excerpt-with-attribution is fine. Wholesale republication is not.

Prohibited

Image and asset use without license

Images, diagrams, illustrations, visual designs, and other assets are © RGM® and not available for download or reuse without written licensing. The watermark overlay on images is technical confirmation; the legal restriction stands regardless.

Prohibited

AI training without explicit consent

While we allow general-purpose AI crawlers for citation and answer-engine purposes, we do not consent to use of this site's content for fine-tuning derivative AI models that compete with RGM's services or republish RGM's content. If you operate an AI model and want to discuss licensed access, contact us.

Our technical protections

We use a layered defensive approach:

None of this is foolproof. Skilled bad actors can circumvent any client-side protection. These controls exist primarily to make casual scraping costly enough that it isn't worth doing, and to give us clear legal grounds when abuse occurs. The legal and reputational consequences for documented violation are the real enforcement layer.

Requesting licensing, citation guidance, or partnership

If you want to license content for training, syndicate articles, request permission for republication, ask about an agency partnership, or discuss a custom data feed — reach out at hello@realgrowthmatters.com. We say yes more often than people expect.

Reporting a violation

If you encounter site content being scraped, mirrored, or republished without permission, please let us know at legal@realgrowthmatters.com. We pursue documented violations.

Vulnerability disclosure

If you find a security issue on the site, please report it responsibly to security@realgrowthmatters.com. We acknowledge within 48 hours and credit researchers who follow responsible disclosure.

Final note. RGM exists to make growth marketing more rigorous. We publish openly because the field benefits from shared frameworks. We protect aggressively because mass scraping degrades the quality of the open web. These two stances are compatible.
